Privacy Policy
Effective Date: January 1 2025
Introduction
Capture Your Audience, referred to in this Policy as “CYA,” “we,” “our,” or “us,” is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose and safeguard your personal information when you visit cya.to or use our services. By accessing the site you consent to the practices described below. If you disagree with any part of this Policy, please do not use the site.
Information We Collect
We collect contact information such as your name, email address, telephone number and mailing address when you complete a contact form or onboarding questionnaire. We collect payment and billing information when you make a purchase; card details are tokenised and processed securely by Stripe, and we do not store full card numbers. When you create an account we collect a username, a password and usage logs. Our servers automatically record your Internet Protocol address, browser type, operating system and similar technical data for security and troubleshooting. We infer general location, such as city and province, from the IP address. We also record pages visited and the time spent on our site to improve user experience. Finally, we store your marketing preferences so that we honour any choices you make about receiving communications.
How We Use Personal Information
We use your information to provide and maintain the CYA platform, process transactions, schedule consultations, deliver projects, respond to inquiries, improve our website and comply with legal obligations related to taxation, accounting and fraud prevention.
Disclosure of Information
We share personal information only with service providers that enable us to operate our business. These providers currently include Stripe for payment processing, the CYA platform for CRM and automation, Cloudflare for content delivery and security and Intercom or a similar tool for live chat and customer support. Each provider acts as a processor bound by contract to use your information solely as instructed by us. We do not sell or share personal information for targeted advertising purposes.
Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We do not place advertising or analytics cookies on your device. Essential session cookies may be set to maintain secure login and basic functionality. You may disable cookies through your browser settings, but certain features may no longer function.
Data Retention
We retain contact, account and invoice records until you request deletion or for the seven-year period required for tax compliance, whichever period is longer.
Data Security
CYA employs transport-layer security on every page, encrypts sensitive data at rest with the AES-256 standard, limits internal access through role-based permissions and requires staff to sign non-disclosure agreements and complete security-awareness training. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed secure, and you accept this residual risk.
Your Rights and Choices
You may request access to or correction of your personal information at any time by emailing [email protected]. You may also request deletion of your personal data, subject to any legal requirements to retain certain records. Marketing emails include an unsubscribe link, and you may opt out of marketing at any time. You may control cookies through your browser settings. California residents may request disclosure of categories, sources and purposes of personal information collected, and may exercise deletion or “do not sell or share” rights by contacting us through the methods above.
International Transfers
Our servers reside in Canada. By using the site from outside Canada you consent to the transfer and processing of your information in Canada, where data-protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction.
Children’s Privacy
The CYA website is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under thirteen years of age. If you believe that a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Changes to This Policy
We may revise this Privacy Policy occasionally. The effective date at the top of the policy will change when revisions are published. Material changes will be highlighted on the website or communicated by email if we have your address.
